Do you cut wood?

Yes. Wood cuts are available at all of our stores.

Do you repair window screens?

Yes. Our Rockridge and SoMa locations offer window screen repairs. Contact these stores for information and pricing.

Do you offer glass replacement for windows and doors?

Yes. Our Cole Valley location offers glass replacement on wood frame windows and doors.

Do you rent tools?

Due to COVID-19 we have temporarily suspended our tool rental service.

Are there discounts for students?

Yes. Show us your student I.D. and receive a 5% immediate discount, plus 5% annual rebate, custom key tag, use of our fax machines, and more!

Will you place special orders for customers?

Yes. If we don’t have what you need in stock, we’ll do our best to obtain it for you as quickly as possible.

Can you provide a speaker for my group?

Yes. Topics range from home repair to gardening to security to small business marketing and more. If you need a speaker for your organization, call (415) 753-2653 ext. 5.

Do you exchange SodaStream carbonators?

Yes. We exchange spent SodaStream carbonators at all our locations.

Do you have a knife sharpening service?

Yes. Knives and scissors can be sharpened while you wait or dropped off for same-day service. (Note: Downtown and Russian Hill stores do not sharpen scissors.) Professional knife sharpening at all locations on alternating weeks. Contact store for dates and times.

Do you rent rug cleaners?

Yes. We have Rug Doctor steam carpet and upholstery cleaners available for rent at each store.

 

Do you have a loyalty program?

Yes. Earn a 2% dividend on purchases and much more with our Cole Hardware Rewards program. Membership is quick and free. Sign up today!

What is your return policy?

Due to COVID-19 we have temporarily suspended returns, we kindly ask that you hold on to your returns until after shelter-in-place has lifted.

We accept returns on just about anything. Power tools and appliances may only be returned subject to manufacturer’s warranty. Hand tools exchanged for defective replacement only. Please see stores for nonreturnable items. Receipt required for cash refund.

Can you repot a plant?

Yes. Pick out the plant and the pot, and our Cole Valley, Russian Hill, or Rockridge nursery staff will repot your plant for free.

Do you have a referral service?

Yes. Our Repair Referral Service is an alliance with competent, honest, quality tradespeople to assure you excellent work on your home, property, or office. We are a licensed contractor (#708403). Check it out!

What products do you recycle?

We recycle the following items:

  • Old liquid paint (dried paint cans can be recycled in your bin at home, lid off)
  • Used rechargeable batteries
  • Used household batteries (alkaline and regular)
  • Copper and brass scrap metal – example: keys, bathroom, plumbing fixtures, etc.
  • Cell phones
  • Expired cartridges
  • Soft plastics (Rockridge location only)
  • Spent small propane tanks (SF locations only)
  • Spent fluorescent bulbs
  • Mercury thermostats

All items that are brought into our stores will be sent off to be recycled into new products! Cole Hardware believes that recycling will help “close the loop”!

Do you sell postage stamps?

Yes. Purchase a booklet of Forever Stamps at any of our locations.

Can you cut and thread pipe?

Yes. We cut and thread galvanized and black pipe, your pipe or ours. (Note: Downtown and Russian Hill stores can’t thread pipe.)

Do you make photocopies?

Yes. We’re happy to photocopy documents for you. Please ask for rates.

Do you sell Muni Visitor Passports and parking meter cards?

Yes, we sell both. We sell 1-Day, 3-Day, and 7-Day Muni Visitor Passports and parking meter cards in $20 and $50 denominations.

Do you cut metal?

Yes. Metal cuts are available at all stores. See store for details.

Do you offer locksmith services and key duplication?

We cut keys at all our stores, including hard-to-replicate computer ChipKeys for automobiles. We have an expert locksmith on duty Monday through Friday at our downtown store—call (415) 777-4400. Locked out? We can also send a locksmith to your home or business 24/7—call (415) 760-5625 to reach our locksmith, Marc, directly. (24/7 service available in San Francisco only.)

Do you rekey locks?

Yes. Our Downtown, Cole Valley, and Rockridge locations can rekey locks. See store for details.

What are your store hours?

Please click here for up-to-date shelter-in-place hours.

Most of our stores are open every single day of the year, including every holiday. Our Cole Valley, North Beach, Russian Hill, and Rockridge stores are open 8:00 am–8:00 pm daily. Holiday hours vary. Our SoMa store is open daily 8:00 am–7:00 pm. Visit our Downtown store 8:00 am–8:00 pm Monday through Saturday or 9:00 am–6:00 pm on Sunday.  

Do you cut glass and plexiglass?

Yes. We will cut to size plexiglass and single- and double-strength glass while you wait. We can also special order curved, tempered, laminated, and obscure glass, as well as mirrors and tabletops.

Do you sell gift cards?

Yes. We offer Cole Hardware gift cards and Ace Hardware gift cards in almost any denomination.

Do you have a fax service?

Yes. Our fax machines are available for your personal use. We do charge for our fax service—please ask for rates. Fax numbers: Cole Valley (415) 753-0957; Downtown (415) 777-4453; Russian Hill (415) 674-8917; SoMa (415) 647-2045; North Beach (415) 432-5872; Rockridge (510) 852-8216.

 

Do you deliver?

Yes. We offer doorstep delivery. Just call us with your order, let us know if you’d like delivery, and we’ll make arrangements and get your items to you as soon as we can. Business orders are welcome too. $20 for deliveries requiring one of our crew members (smaller items we can carry to your doorstep). $40 for deliveries requiring two crew members (grills, bags of soil, large patio furniture, etc.).

Do you accept coupons?

Yes. We honor all manufacturers’ coupons. If we carry the product, we’ll honor any other store’s coupons as well.

Can you color match paint?

Yes. We have terrific paint matching computers. Bring in a swatch of fabric or a quarter-size paint chip, and the staff can match just about any color.

Do you have a commercial supplies division?

Yes. Cole Hardware Supplies. We have an entire division devoted to servicing the needs of commercial and industrial customers throughout the Bay Area and beyond. We offer charge accounts, on-site account specialists, free delivery, and the personal services of our friendly team. Give them a call at (415) 647-1800 or email [email protected].

Do you sell Clipper cards?

Yes. All Cole Hardware locations sell and reload Clipper card fares.

Do you offer monthly billing charge accounts for businesses?

Yes. For your convenience, we have in-house charge accounts for businesses. Stop by or request the application via email, and we’ll process it and open your account pending a credit check.

Do you have a business-to-business program?

Yes. Members of this program receive free delivery for in-stock orders of $100 or more, special pricing, and personal service. Stop by or call any of our locations for more information.

Do you have bridal and gift registries?

Yes. You can schedule an appointment to set up a gift registry for any special occasion. We will set up the registry for your friends and family to purchase gifts online. Email [email protected] to schedule an appointment or for further information.

What type of payments do you accept?

We’ll accept your ATM card for payment. You can get up to $20 cash back too. We also accept VISA, MasterCard, Discover, and American Express credit cards, Google Wallet, Apple Pay, and all contactless forms of payment.

Are you affiliated with Ace® Hardware?
