LOCKSMITH
We duplicate keys at all of our stores. If you have a unique key or need a re-key, our downtown store has an experienced locksmith on duty Monday through Friday. Call (415) 200-3444.
SHARPENING
We have two options to pick from:
1. Our state-of-the-art Resharp Machines can sharpen your straight-edge knives while you shop.
2. If you have serrated blades or want the expert touch on your prized kitchen knives, let Matt work his magic on them! Matt, our professional knife sharpener, comes to each store every other week. Check his schedule here.
In addition to any type of knife, he also sharpens scissors, garden tools, axes, chisels, paper cutters, and food processor and mandolin blades. Oh yeah, he can also repair chips! Matt is a magician!
RECYCLING
We recycle the following items:

Old liquid paint (dried paint cans can be recycled in your bin at home, lid off)

Used household batteries (alkaline and regular)

Spent small propane tanks (San Francisco locations only)

PAINT COLOR MATCHING
Looking for that perfect purple? Exact eggshell? Specific sienna? We have terrific paint-matching computers. Bring in a swatch of fabric, favorite sneaker, or the entire kitchen cabinet and our crew can match it. If you want to match the paint on your wall, scrape off a quarter-sized piece and we can match it, no matter what brand. Speaking of brands, we exclusively carry Benjamin Moore premium paints, but if you know the name of a color from another brand, we can match it!
CUT TO SIZE
Need some wood or pipe cut? Let us do the work for you. Our stores offer cutting services on a variety of products: pipe, wood, window shades, glass, and plexiglass. See store for details and prices on cutting services.
DELIVERY
Get Cole Hardware delivered to your door! For BBQs and other big and bulky items we partner with 3rd party delivery companies. You can also shop on acehardware.com for shipping and delivery options. And, if you need it now, we're on the apps:
RENTALS
We rent tools, rug cleaners, and ladders! Do you need to drill holes in order to hang that new planter? Do you want to cut a few pieces of wood to make some shelves? Maybe you need to use a post-hole digger to fix your backyard fence, or you want to get those carpets cleaned before company comes over. Or you want to finally fix the drip coming from your showerhead but you don’t have the wrench that will reach deep into your tiled shower wall.
Projects like these take special and often expensive tools. And let’s face it, even though we’d love to sell them to you, not everyone can afford them, has the space to store them, or has an interest in developing their own tool collection (that one’s tough for us to understand!).
If you ask (and ask, you do), we will gladly get our drill, extension ladder, or 100-foot extension cord and rent it to you by the day. We rent tools, ladders, rug cleaners, garden shovels, moving totes, and much more!
