- Before traveling, photocopy everything in your wallet. Keep the copies in a secure place and if the wallet is ever lost you will have the exact information.
- If your pet will be traveling in the car with you, put a damp towel over the pet’s travel cage. This will keep it cool and cut down static created by the movement of the car.
- A small, inflatable pool can double as a traveling playpen or crib.
- Bring mesh vegetable bags to the beach. When it’s time to go, you can bag up all the toys and dunk them so you won’t bring home a load of sand.
- To minimize wrinkles when you pack, use leftover plastic cleaners bags between folds of clothing as you pack.
- A little spot cleaning will help stains from setting while you are away. Pack a small stain stick and pretreat as soon as a spot is found. You’ll find that when you get home and launder the clothing, that the spot will disappear nine times out of ten.
- Be sure to place several new opened boxes of baking soda in your refrigerator before leaving. This will cut down on the accumulation of unwanted odors while you are away.
- Sprinkle baking soda in hiking boots before a long walk. This will help feet feel much fresher and will also cut down on boot odor.
