We're almost ready for prime time!
Russian Hill store update

We have been busy customizing our new location in Russian Hill, getting it ready to make its debut as a hardware store.
Linda, who has been the manager of our Mission Street store, will be leading our team at 2254 Polk at the corner of Green. She and her development team (Noelle, Tina, Adrianna, Miguel and Rick) have been moving mountains to prepare for our grand opening.
Construction has been completed by our able Home Repair Service favorite, Dennis. The painters have finished, the fixtures have been set and the store merchandised. We're almost ready for prime time!

We hope to have a grand opening in the latter half of October. Of course there will be specials available at all four San Francisco stores. If you have not yet signed up to get news via our eline, please go to www.colehardware.com/eline.
There are still employment opportunities; most positions are in Russian Hill, but a few are at our other San Francisco stores. Some of our staff will be transferring to open the new store in order to mentor our culture and unique brand of customer service to the newest members of our family. We are actively seeking fun and friendly people for sales, warehouse and cashier positions. We'll need an office person, too. Hello Russian Hill!
It's time for Cole Hardware to grow once again.

Eight years ago we brought downtown's Fox Hardware into our small family of hardware stores to make three. Now we are going to open a new store in the Russian Hill neighborhood to make four.
We have been scouting for another location for a couple of years now. With the demise of the dot-com, and the downturn in the economy, we knew that if we were going to expand, this was the market to make our move. With relatively high vacancy rates, we hoped that property owners would be more realistic about rents that they could charge, and would be willing to sacrifice dot-com riches in trade for a stable, long-term tenant. Even so, we searched to no avail.
In May, both the residents of Russian Hill and the property owner of a beautiful building at Polk and Green approached us. Walgreen's, a long-time tenant at this location, moved to a larger location a couple of blocks away. Both Blockbuster and a restaurant wanted the now-vacant Walgreen's. But the neighborhood said "no!" They wanted a hardware store to serve their community. Calls, emails and letters came, asking us to open a Cole Hardware at Polk and Green. Long story, short: We hope to be open this fall!
