Our Polk Street Store Turns 6!
November marks the anniversary of our Polk Street store.
November marks the anniversary of our Polk Street store. While we look at the Polk Street store as our “new store,” in fact, it’s matured over the years into a beautiful and valued resource within the Russian Hill community. Hundreds of people walk through doors every day to look for assistance with their projects, browse around amongst the many unique items, visit with our friendly and great staff, and of course to munch on the always-popping popcorn!
Internally we refer to the Polk Street store as our “model” store. At Polk, we try out new concepts, different products and new ways to display them. In fact, we recently embarked on a mission to re-merchandise nearly the entire store. Over the years (even just six), we found ourselves with numerous square inches around the store: package sizes change, items get discontinued, and new inventory forces the old into new homes. It was time to reclaim those square inches, amass them into square feet, and fill the store with even more products for you. As of this writing, we’re not quite done, but

already, we’ve added more than 1000 different products to the store through this process. Of course, we’re not just squishing the product together. We’re taking advantage of new merchandising methodologies in order to present our products to you in a more appealing manner.
