Moms, Mother’s Day, & Customer Service Outstanding service is a natural for moms! Providing outstanding customer service is a mantra at Cole Hardware. Our simple mission statement, “Your satisfaction guaranteed. Period.” guides all that we do. All of us try very, very hard to deliver on that promise. It isn’t always easy, but we try by focusing on our ultimate role models: the moms amongst us. We try to include as many mothers in our workforce as possible. Why? Because mothers deliver excellent “customer service” to their children every day, so they naturally provide similar service to our customers. Experience the treatment given by Amy or Alice at Cole Fox, or by Any at Mission Street or Liz in Commercial Supply, to name a few, and you will understand exactly what I mean. They just make you feel good — and gratified that you were able to interact with them. (Hint, hint, moms: If you would like to enter the workforce full or part time, please consider this an invitation to apply to join our family!) I often write about the excellent customer service that we strive to deliver at Cole Hardware and I preach those same messages at all of our stores. I know what excellent customer service is all about because I have the pleasure of living with a dedicated customer service specialist who, for the last twenty years, has focused — laser sharp — on nurturing and serving our children. Janet, my wife, lives the role and walks the walk — so seamlessly that our two great kids often don’t realize and therefore take for granted just how great she is. But I guess that is part of motherhood: serving with a smile, regardless of the varying levels of outward appreciation.
