What’s New at Cole Hardware  VPX Tools by Black & DeckerBlack & Decker introduces its new sleek and compact VPX line of tools, powered by breakthrough Lithium-Ion battery technology. Unlike traditional nickel-cadmium batteries used in power tools, lithium-ion (Li-ion) batteries are ideal for portable electronic tools, with one of the best energy-to-weight ratios, no memory effect, and a slow loss of charge when not in use. Because Li-ion batteries store more energy in a smaller area and are much lighter, VPX tools are therefore much lighter than their counterparts and the low self-discharge allows the tools to work for extended periods of time between recharging. Also, because the tools weigh less than other power tools, they can be used for longer periods of time without causing fatigue. The Li-ion batteries in the VPX line are all interchangeable with all other VPX products. Cole Hardware offers three tools in the VPX line:  VPX ScrewdriverPowered by one VPX 7 Volt Lithium-Ion battery, the two speed transmission provides power for driving and speed for drilling. The compact and comfortable size gets into tight places and a one quarter inch hex shank collarallows for an easy bit change. Included with the screwdriver are one VPX battery, one port charger, a storage case and ten accessories. Use this screwdriver for RTA furniture, light duty drilling and fastening applications (sku 2191609, 59.99). VPX Drilldriver The 14 Volt drill driver provides up to 80% more torque and is 15% smaller than its predecessor, Black & Decker 14.4V compact drills. The 24 position adjustable clutch provides control when driving screws and a two speed transmission offers power and drive when driving or drilling. The drill driver comes with 2 VPX 7 Volt batteries, 20 accessories and an all metal single sleeve keyless chuck (3/8”) with improved gripping areas. The VPX Drilldriver works well for heavier duty drilling, fastening applications, assembling furniture, home repair and hanging wall art (sku 2191617, 99.99). VPX Cutsaw  The versatile design of the cutsaw cuts almost anything and accepts standard t-shank and universal jig saw blades. The saw runs on one 7 Volt Li-ion battery and offers a tool free blade change. The VPX Cutsaw is ideal for light duty demolition, pruning trees, cutting wire shelving, trimming lattice work and even carving pumpkins.
