Time to fall back again
Sunday, November 4th.

Cole Hardware offers some suggestions to make certain entry ways are safe, and well-lit.
Clocks are changed one hour back this year on Sunday, November 4th at 2:00 AM. If you set your clocks back on Saturday night November 3rd before you go to bed, you’ll awake Sunday morning to the correct time. While this means we gain a precious hour of sleep, it also means that it gets darker much earlier. Well-lit entry ways help prevent accidents, as well as discourage would-be burglars.
An energy efficient way to make sure entry ways are lit when arriving home during dark hours is to install an automatic light sensor that will turn on at dusk and off at dawn. The Woods Outdoor Photoelectric Socket Adapter’s long neck design screws into any standard exterior socket and is weather resistant in damp conditions. (Sku 32578) 14.99. Motion activated lighting, which turns on when movement is sensed, is another alternative to welcome guests, secure your home and save energy. Both decorative and floodlight styles are available and many models feature a sensitivity control to adjust the range of distance for sensing motion and to select the length of time light stays on after motion has been detected.
Cole Hardware offers a variety of motion sensing options including the Heath Zenith Hardware Hard Wire Decorative Lighting (Sku 34660, 26.99) with a 60 -foot sensor range and Ace’s Motion Activated Security Floodlight (Sku 3211414, 24.99) with a 70-foot sensor range.
Take this opportunity to also check the batteries in your smoke detectors or install a new one at the recommendation of the San Francisco Fire Department.
