 Air Purifier |
uses patented two-stage technology
 |
Indoor air pollutants such as dust, pollen, animal dander (and possibly tobacco smoke) can not only be unpleasant but can aggravate health problems.
The Blueair Air Purifier was engineered and built for people who don’t want to compromise on health or function. It is an excellent system for those who are living with allergies, asthma or other respiratory conditions -- or for anyone who wants cleaner, more breathable air. On its lowest speed, the Blueair captures 99.97% of the tiniest 0.1 micron particles, including dust mites and mold spores.
The SurroundAir vent system delivers exceptional air exchange (up to 500 cubic feet per minute) without annoying drafts. As mentioned in the October 2003 Consumer Reports, this performance earned the Blueair a “Best of Class” ranking in independent Association of Home Appliance Manufacturers testing of clean air delivery rates.
The Blueair 402 effectively purifies air in rooms as large as 365 sq. ft. It is easy to use and maintain. Every six months, just lift out the old filter and drop the new one in.
Environmentally aware

Blueair units are environmentally friendly in every aspect. Standard triclosan-coated paper or glass filter fibers, which can harm the environment when released into the waste stream, were replaced with safer, nontoxic polypropylene, which produces only carbon dioxide and water as it decomposes. Because polypropylene is waterproof, Blueair filters resist contamination from bacteria, viruses and mold without chemical additives or washes. Even a special powder coat finish is used to produce no chemical outgassing.
Low energy cost

Phenomenally low power usage has earned Blueair an Energy Star label -- the system can be run 24/7 without a jump in electricity consumption. In fact, it costs about the same to clean the air in a home as it does to power a single lightbulb: only 15 watts on low to 95 watts on high.
Cleans air quietly

To achieve exceptionally quiet operation, Blueair's patented HEPASilent filter technology traps particles two ways: with mechanical and electrostatic filters. This combination creates a filter system through which air flows freely, so the fan doesn’t have to work as hard or as loud as most air cleaners, which need to pull air through densely packed filters. Even the housing is designed with quiet operation in mind, replacing sound-sonant plastic with noise-muffling steel.
Streamlined design

The streamlined, contemporary look procured the prestigious “Excellent Swedish Design” award, and a Blueair unit resides in a permanent exhibit at The National Museum in Stockholm.
The Blueair 402 measures 23"h x 20"w x 11"d.
