Hello, North Beach and Chinatown!
Cole Hardware is excited to be opening our doors this month in North Beach, right on the edge of Chinatown! On our radar for eons, we’ve also had inquiries from residents for years asking us to consider moving to the neighborhood. And we’ve looked at multiple locations over time, but none worked out until we found the old Rossi’s Market. Painting, unpacking, upgrading, building—you name it!—our crew has been busy getting the space spruced up for our soft opening around Valentine’s Day. We’re excited to be joining the many other iconic businesses in North Beach and Chinatown and hope to fill the vacant niche left when Figoni Hardware on Grant Street closed years ago. We’ll be hosting a business-wide grand opening celebration in April for our new SoMa and North Beach locations. Stay tuned!
Meet the North Beach Management Team: Tina and Adrianna
Just over 20 years ago, Tina, newly arrived in the City, walked into our Mission Street store inquiring about a job. It didn’t take us long to realize what a gem had just come through our door. We gave Tina a job—as a cashier. Opportunities came Tina’s way and she embraced them all, growing personally and professionally, all the while delighting our staff and customers with her super efficiency and buoyant personality. She’s run the warehouse, assisted store managers, and been a store manager herself—both at our Mission store and, for many years, at our Polk Street store. And as if that weren’t enough, Tina wears another very important hat at Cole Hardware —that of our human resources director. Now, Tina will be the store manager of our new North Beach location! When you meet her, you will understand immediately why she has thrived in our culture. Her presence in Cole Hardware has grown from a shining gem to something equivalent of the Hope Diamond. We are tickled to have her leading the team in our new store and fostering our relationships with the North Beach and Chinatown communities. Adrianna has been involved with Cole Hardware nearly all of her life. She’s my daughter and has been hanging around the stores since she was five or six, spending many a summer and weekend working in the stores as she got older. I recall the summer she apprenticed as a locksmith in our downtown store. Try her out: I’ll bet she still remembers how to rekey a lock, and she can certainly cut your keys! Adrianna began her full-time career at Cole Hardware a little over three years ago. She has been learning all facets of the business as she (and her brother David) learn ownership responsibilities. But Adrianna’s main passion is working alongside our staff and with our customers. She has been over-the-top excited about creating a store in North Beach and has been our project manager there from day one. (And she is responsible for the store’s beautiful facade too!) Adrianna also loves to cook, and our kitchen department reflects her experience and taste. I love her, of course, and I know you will too!
